Case Page 63

I have another case for you today. This one is a cute little 3 x 3 card showcased on page 63 of the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog (IBC). This would be so adorable attached to a gift bag or present.

Cut a piece of Melon Mambo 3” by 6”, score at 3” and fold. Stamp the front with the different flower stamps in the Simply Said set, using Melon Mambo ink. If you don’t have Melon Mambo ink, use Versamark. Cut a So Saffron piece at 2 1/4” by 3”. Stamp the solid heart from Simply Said using Versamark ink. Stamp the floral heart over the solid heart, using So Saffron ink. Stamp the heart border using White craft ink. Punch a hole in the lower right of the heart and insert a brad from the Hodge Podge Hardware set. There are several to choose from.

Punch the Old Olive strip using the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. Glue the Marina Mist strip down, then the punched Old Olive strip. Cover where the two pieces met with ribbon. I knotted the ribbon and then secured it on the back using sticky tape. The ribbon I used is retired; however, there are plenty of new ribbons in the IBC that would work beautifully.

Mount the So Saffron piece to the Melon Mambo piece using dimensionals.

Viola! A perfect card for that perfect present.

Casing Jan Tink

I decided to case the awesome Jan Tink http://stampspaperscissors.typepad.com. Her card is different but the basic idea and colors where taken from the card. I hope she thinks I did her card justice. It is hard to follow in the wake of someone so inspiring in her creativity. You rock, Jan!

I used multiple sets for this card: Extreme Elements (#115181, page 89), Charming (#116519, page 130) and Elements of Style (#120045 or 118611, page 133). I also dry embossed the Tempting Turquoise with theTexturz Plate from Backgrounds 1 (3114512, page 215). I used both the Log Cabin (#119921 page 195) and Gold Glow (#118770, page 195) smooch spritz. I admit I was a little heavy handed with the log cabin spritz. I also used the photo corners punch (#119878, page 202). Hope you like it!

Case Page158

Well today we went to the Aquatic Gardens on a photography mission. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. I did get a few shots. I’ll have to go another day. The gardens looked really interesting.

Today’s card is a case of page 158 of the new 2010-2011 IBC. It’s not an exact case. I did use the Everything Nice (#113818) stamp set however, the ribbon, flowers and base cardstock are retired. I hope this card shows you that you can use what you have available. Although it is really fun to buy new stuff!!

Holiday Mini

Just saw the online copy of the Holiday Mini and all I can say is WOW!!!!! Stampin’ Up! has really stepped up. Unfortunately, I can’t share the contents yet. The mini will be available to order from starting September 1. As always, it will be filled with holiday items for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Valentine’s day. Be prepared to be wowed.

Case 215

I’ve decided that I will be casing cards from the new 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog. This card is on page 215 of new the catty. You will notice some new colors on this card - Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, and Daffodil Delight. The card base is textured So Saffron, the green is Certainly Celery. I used the embosslits beautiful wings to make the butterflies. I sewed using white thread. ‘Thanks so much’ is from Pocket Silhouettes.

Retired Retro

I decided to use some of my soon to be retired supplies. The stamp set, Razzle Dazzle (#116714) is not retiring, but the ribbon, card stock and DSP will retired as of the end of June.

To ruffle the ribbon, I put down double sided tape and folded up the ribbon as I laid it down. The Dusty Durango cardstock was sprayed with the Gold Glow smooch spritz.

Doesn’t this card remind you of the 1960’s? It makes me think of mini skirts and beehives. I cased this card from Mary Fish. She makes awesome cards! Her site is www.stampinpretty.com. I used Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Early Espresso (the new dark delicious brown). The Designer paper is retired. But you will be able to make this card with any of the wonderful new DSP’s coming out in July.

To make the circles, use the smallest circle punch to punch a circle. Save that circle to use as the smaller circles. Then take the larger circle punch, off set the cut out circle and punch. Viola! A circle with a punched hole.
